Welcome
Hi, I'm Sarah.
In a world full of unknowns as a parent - here is what I know.
I know that humans (regardless of age) are happiest when we do things WITH them, rather than to or for them. Not the superficial happy - 'I found this shirt on sale' kind of happy - but the deep down in our bones happy. This happy is self-generated when we are able to fully exist with one another.
I know that in order to teach you must be able to learn. I know that we are all capable as learners and teachers. I know that much of what we bring into our parenting is largely subconscious - passed onto us almost like an invisible inheritance. We get to decide what to take from that inheritance, but just as importantly, what to leave. We can replace the habits or ideas that don’t serve us or our children with an approach that feels more authentic and effective.
I believe that when parents have access to valuable research and information they are better equipped in their role as parents. I also know that finding the time to sift through the research can take us away from time with our children - leaving us with an impossible choice - spend time learning about the current phase of development so we can make the most of the the fleeting stage OR spend time with our children - period. We shouldn't have to make that choice.
This is why Pause Parent Repeat was born - to build the AND between learning as parents and fully living life with our children.

Sarah
Experience and Background
My background includes undergrad focused on Psychology and Sociology specializing in child development including coursework in neuroscience. I parlayed that knowledge into becoming a kindergarten teacher with Teach For America and then, after almost 10 years had the incredible honor of designing and opening an elementary school in Memphis, TN that was designed with the developmental needs of children in mind and heart.
Needless to say - children and the opportunities they are provided to learn is my passion!! As a teacher and principal I recognized the incredible power of the early years of life (particularly infancy 0-3 and young children 4-5) had on a child's experience in school and beyond - it's when their brain is still developing in ways unique to 0-5. They are such impactful years that our society doesn't always do a great job of respecting or supporting.
Then... I became a parent and game over. I felt the research even more deeply and felt like I was in the impossible position of choosing between learning about my baby/toddler/kiddo and BEing with them, fully present. This is why Pause Parent Repeat was born - to create a space that serves both simultaneously. I problem solve and research through my lens as a parent and educator to hopefully provide parents with ideas and solutions to make the most of these very long days and very short years.

Why?
I first learned about Every Mother from a close friend when I was pregnant with our third. My body was tired. Having felt the difference in strength and energy (not to mention bladder control) firsthand I applied to become an EveryMother Advocate so that I could more professionally connect other mothers with the program.
As an Every-Mother Advocate I am able to offer referral codes and also earn from qualifying purchases while sharing this incredible program with hopeful, expecting and postpartum mothers.
Why?
Sprout caught my eye and heart in our firstborn's early months. I had been searching for a company that designed with CHILDREN in mind; a company that prioritized the AND of creating a product that was functional AND environmentally conscious; that was child AND adult friendly.
As a Sprout Affiliate I am able to offer referral codes and also earn from qualifying purchases while sharing furniture that is designed for independence and crafted for comfort.
